A new Ford Ranger is on its way to Asia Pacific and it is expected to make its debut at the end of this year. Now, pickup truck fans in the region can get a better look at the future Ranger after the vehicle was snapped cruising on the roads of Thailand.
The spy shots basically reveal the Ranger without any camouflage on and we can easily tell that the vehicle in the image is from the Wildtrack trim. This is because the pickup truck a darkened front grille and bumpers. Furthermore, the Ranger comes completed with roof bars and decals.
While nothing has been revealed on the mechanism that powers the Ranger Wildtrack, Ford will surely offer two different engines with the vehicle. They are expected to be the the Duratorq TCDi 4-cylinder that develops 148hp and 375Nm of torque and the 3.2L 5-cylinder turbodiesel that develops 197hp and 470Nm of torque.
The horsepower will be pumped through the Getrag-designed MT82 six-speed manual transmission or the 6R80 six-speed automatic gearbox, depending on the consumer’s preference.
Of course, this is pending for confirmation by Ford and fans can look forward to hear more details coming out prior to the Ranger’s debut at the end of this year. When the next-gen Ranger arrives, it will be part of Ford’s MY2016 line-up.
