Many consumers are making a mistake by viewing the latest Honda HR-V and the Jeep Renegade as something that is very similar to one another when apparently; both compact SUVs are actually very different.
If consumers are to look closely at the Jeep Renegade, the vehicle is made for the dirt tracks since it features Jeep’s award-winning off-road technology. This allows the Renegade to climb mountains, cross river streams and surf on sand dunes with ease.
Of course, the Renegade is not so bad when on a tar mat as it actually makes a perfect highway cruiser. The 1.4L turbocharged engine that is paired to a 6-speed automatic transmission ensures that things are decent with the Renegade. Then again, its poor fuel consumption simply fixed one nail on its coffin.
The Honda HR-V, on the other hand, was developed with the general market in mind. It runs on a 1.5L 4-cylinder engine that is paired to a CVT transmission. In figures, this generates 170hp and 106ft-lbs of torque.
Just from describing the HR-V’s rig, one can easily see that the compact SUV is more economical than before. This makes the HR-V more fitting to run any task without prejudice. Of course, this is except for the off-roading department, which is ruled by Jeep.
