When it comes to purchasing a brand new compact SUV, most consumers find it difficult to decide between the latest Honda HR-V and the Jeep Renegade. Well, this is not surprising as both vehicles are simple flawless.
Then again, there is a huge difference in terms of what the HR-V and Renegade has got to offer. The former, in particular, is developed to be the ideal general car. Honda equipped the HR-V with a 1.5L 4-cylinder engine that generates 170hp and 106ft-lbs of torque; all while being mated to a CVT transmission.
Judging by the sound of it, there is no doubt that the HR-V offers splendid fuel economy. Furthermore, the cabin is built for comfort as the HR-V comes completed with air filtration, front air-condition and a multi-purpose steering wheel that is completed with audio controls, cruise control, phone control as well as steering wheel adjustments.
As for the Jeep Renegade, it is the exact opposite of the Honda HR-V. For starters, the Renegade is powered by a 1.4L turbocharged engine that is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. The compact SUV is not quite the fuel saver everyone is hoping for but it does offer a nice cruising feel.
The real power of the Renegade is with its 4WD mode. When engaged, the Renegade turns to a beast just like other vehicles from Jeep. The 4WD system basically allows the Renegade to climb mountains, cross river streams and also surf on sand dunes.
With that being said, it does make things easier for consumers. For those that has a strong passion for off-roading, then the Jeep Renegade is the best choice out there. Otherwise, we highly recommend the Honda HR-V.
