iPhone 6 Could Have Quantum Dots

Quality. That is the best word to describe Apple’s products. The highly anticipated iPhone 6 is going to be unveiled this May and there has been word that the powerful Retina display will be upgraded to Quantum Dots.

This futuristic technology is actually a series of nanocrystals made of semiconductors that can be tuned to provide a highly specific amount of light to the screen. With such a feature, colours produced will be more vibrant and accurate unlike how it was with LEDs and LCDs.

Of course, it is no secret that Apple plans to go big with the iPhone 6. By big, it literally means the size. The display on the iPhone 6 is about to get bigger and if the much rumoured Quantom Dots is true, then expect the iPhone 6 to offer users the best screen there is.

However, Apple CEO, Tim Cook, played down the hype for the Quantom Dots. The head of Apple announced that it will only add in new features only if it is ready. If not, the company is more than willing to wait as they don’t want to risk the user quality of the device.

At the moment, it is unsure to how far Apple has progressed in attempting to revolutionize the display on mobile gadgets. If the iPhone 6 is built with Quantom Dots, it will be the second device, standing right behind Amazon’s Kindle Fire HDX. We will know for sure this May.
