It can be frustrating when a new model arrives and you can’t get your hands on one because the manufacturer can’t cope with the demand. To avoid that, Jeep will invest in their Jeep Wrangler plant to make sure it is cranking out more of these iconic off-roaders.
Now that Jeep has confirmed that the Jeep Wrangler will be built at their Toledo plant, they are ready to invest and start working on upgraded the plant so that it is able to push out more of the new Jeep Wrangler.
The current Toledo plant has a capacity of 240,000 yearly. After the upgrade, FCA is hoping that the plants capacity would increase to 450,000. FCA will be investing about $700million to upgrade their plant which in turn should create about 700 more new jobs.
While it might be able to push out about 450,000 units, it is said that Jeep only plans to produce 350,000 yearly. The rest of the plant will be used to produce the pickup truck based on the Wrangler.
