Volkswagen announced earlier today that fans of the Golf R will be in for a classy treat when a facelift model gets released next year. This is because the future Golf R Facelift will be coming with a special design that mimics the appearance of the old 1989 Golf Rally.
Like how it was visualized at the last Beijing Auto Show, the Golf R Facelift is confirmed to wear a lemon yellow paint job with silver being its primary colour for the interior. Also, the hatchback will be built on the Haldex5 AWD system to improve on the performance of the existing Golf R.
While information on the Golf R Facelift are still scarce at the moment, consumers can look forward to seeing the car running on a 2.2L turbocharged engine that is paired to a 7-speed DSG gearbox. In figures, the Golf R Facelift will generate 292hp and will be able to sprint from 0-62mph in about 3.9 seconds.
