Imagine three of this year’s greatest Android phone going on a triple threat. The three phone contesting for the throne to Androids phone of the year are the HTC ONE, Google Nexus 5 and of course the Samsung Galaxy S4. We have managed to put them in a triple face off to see which one will be crowned the champion.
In terms of operating system, it is unfair as the Nexus 5 is already released along with the latest Android 4.4 KitKat. However both the Galaxy S4 and HTC One are anticipating the update to their Android 4.3 respectively. On another not, both HTC and Samsung have the Sense UI and TouchWiz so it is merely down to brand loyalty.
Where specifications are concerned, the Nexus 5 again top its rival since it is most updated with the latest tech. The Galaxy S4 has a 1.9GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600, the HTC One has a similar processor to the S4 but is only clocked at 1.7GHz. The Nexus 5 laugh it off with the 2.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800. The trio all have 2GB of RAM equipped.
Then we shall look into the build of all three devices. Both the Galaxy S4 and Nexus 5 have a 5” screen compared to 4.75” of the HTC One. All three devices are HD ready boasting a 1920×1080 resolution. However the smaller HTC One has a crispier display due to the size and pixel density. Both S4 and Nexus 5 have Gorilla Glass 3 whereas the HTC is outdated with the Gorilla Glass 2. However, the HTC One has a metal finish unlike the plastic feel of the other two devices.
Finally we have the vital factor, battery. The One and Nexus 5 have similar battery capacity at 2300mAh whereas the S4 comes with a 2600mAh battery.
Well, the argument is over the moment Nexus 5 is involved. The much more new and updated phone covers the deficiency of the other two. However, both Samsung S4 and HTC One did overcome the Nexus 5 on certain points.
