The much anticipated Nexus 5 has finally arrived and available to consumers. While many reports suggest the phone does not quite pack the kind of punch like most high end phones, it does offer a satisfying user experience.
Google’s latest flagship has been the talking point among the Android community for quite some time now, just like how the iPhone is in the Apple community. So let’s make things much more interesting by putting the Nexus 5 on one corner, against the iPhone 5s on the other corner.
Operating System
The Nexus 5 was released along with the latest Android 4.4 KitKat which offers full screen mode, improved calling and messaging, better audio playback and many more. The iOS 7 is the latest by Apple and runs on the iPhone 5s. It features a Control Centre and a brand new look to name a few. It is difficult to make a call since both are equally the world’s best operating system at the moment. It is down to your preference.
Processor
The iPhone 5s has an Apple’s A7 chip, also the first 64-bit processor by the company, with an M7 motion co-processor. The Nexus runs on Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chip, a 2.3 GHz quad-core processor which has already create a benchmark with other devices. Both smartphones again can handle heavy task without a hassle as they are packed with powerful processors respectively. However, Apple’s 64 bit processor is still unproven on the market while the Quad-Core has been hailed as one of the best.
Price
One of the most important factors to consider is the price. Both devices have a bigger price tag than their respective predecessors. The entry level Nexus 5 proves to be the bargain of the two, costing at only $299 compared to $549 of the iPhone 5s. Both came with 16GB of internal storage.
You can watch or read reviews. Heck you can even go to a phone shop and get a feel of both devices. Unless there are some things you really need that is only on the iPhone, then it is best to pay the $299 for the Nexus 5. There is little difference between both phones other than the price, so do consider and think twice before getting either phone. The purchasing power is with you.
