The Honda HR-V is the latest vehicle to join the new subcompact SUV segment and it is certainly a great vehicle to own. Then again, the same can be said for the all-new Jeep Renegade which is simply promising. Despite belonging in the same segment, both vehicles differ in their offerings.
The Jeep Renegade, in particular is powered by a 1.4L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine. We’ve tested the car before and discovered that it performs decently when on the roads. Off the roads, however, the Jeep Renegade is a beast indefinitely.
In detail, the Renegade comes equipped with Jeep’s hallmark off-road technologies and features such as high ground clearance and stiff suspensions. This enables the Renegade to tackle the off-road challenges with ease.
On the other hand, there is the Honda HR-V which is powered by a 1.5L 4-cylinder engine that is mated to a CVT transmission. In figures, the motor generates 170hp and 106ft-lbs of torque. The choice of engine and gearbox made it more certain that the HR-V is built for efficiency and on the road performance.
In addition to that, the HR-V makes an overall great family car. It simply offers a comfortable ride thanks to features like the air filtration, front air conditioning, audio controls on the steering wheel along with cruise control, phone control and steering wheel adjustments.
The conclusion is simple. If consumers wish for an off-road function, then they should look no further and get the Jeep Renegade. The latter is basically the complete off-road vehicle in the segment. Otherwise, consumers can just settle down with the Honda HR-V.
