With the depth of the world and the many colourful characters in the Half-Life universe combined with the ‘We Want 3’ campaigns, Valve has a lot of work cut out for them if they’re developing Half Life 3. Fans have been speculating the features and plot the game might have should it be released.
Recap on the ending of Half-Life 2 shows that the fate of Breen is still unknown. Gordon is extracted by the G-man and told that he’d receive further assignments. The whole game has left fans with more questions than before.
Will Half-Life 3 begin where Half-Life 2 ended? Clues found in the Half Life movie indicated that it is so. The Combine was seen chasing the Borealis before finally understanding on its capabilities. Also, the previous title revealed that Alyx is fuelled with anger as she seeks to revenge the death of her father.
Other clues from Half-Life 2 revealed that it will end with the destruction of the Borealis. After all, G-man had already talked about it during the game. This also explains how Alyx and the G-man will ally with each other. The latter also desire for something similar as she bid to fulfil her father’s final wishes.
Of course, there is no telling on how Half Life 3 will end. If the fan-made films are anything to go by, the protagonist will be defeating the G-Man to end the war once and for all. However, we feel that Valve will most likely throw in a cliff-hanger to keep the series alive for decades more.
