[BREAKING] Mercedes-Benz Malaysia Confirms Warranty Void For Grey Import Models With Fuel Quality Issues!

Mercedes-Benz vehicles here in Malaysia are too expensive to own due to the many taxes that multiplies the original price of the car. That is why those that desire to drive a Mercedes are relying on grey import models, which is much cheaper than the ones from official retailers.

On the downside of things, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia is limiting the privileges on grey import models by taking away their warranty, even though they are acquired through legitimate means.

For those who are unaware what grey import means, it is basically vehicles that are reconditioned after they are shipped from overseas. Purchasing a grey import model has its own set of risk like customers being duped from tampered mileage and many more. Despite that fact, grey import models still appeal to the masses due to their cheap price tag.

Most Mercedes grey import cars in Malaysia are taken from either the UK automotive market or the Japanese automotive market. While it might sound great, MBM revealed that grey import vehicles are not compatible with the local petrol.

MBM added that the petrol quality here in Malaysia is of Euro 2 standards. The quality is also much lower than other countries in the same region. The Mercedes cars offered by MBM are tuned to run on Euro 2 petrol without any complications, which is something grey import models lack. As such, MBM is halting warranties for grey import models that face issues from the local petrol standards.
