There is bad news for anyone waiting for the arrival of the Sony Xperia Z2 in the USA as Sony has now confirmed that they will not release the flagship device in the US. The device is set to reach UAE markets on 17 April.
The Sony Xperia Z2 has made a buzz around the world and aroused curiosity as to whether it will be able to compete with other handsets on the market, include the Samsung Galaxy S5 and the iPhone 5S.
Sony did release a statement saying that they plan to release flagship products every six months. They are hoping to take over the position of Blackberry in the mobile market and follow Apple and Samsung’s lead.
“The idea is to come out with innovative products and bring them to the market as quickly as possible rather than aim for an annual routine,” said Izzat Kittaneh, Director Business Management at Sony MEA in a report by Emirates 24/7.
It is thought that Sony will be transforming this year into making handsets that are more powerful. They are highlighting features that other phone makers do not offer, such as water and dust proofing.
The Sony Xperia Z2 also offers a camera of 20.7MP which has been described as being the best camera and camcorder in the world. It also has noise cancelling tech and 4k video recording.
Thanks to all the features that Sony is putting into their devices it does show just how serious they are when it comes to tackling Samsung.
The Sony Xperia Z2 will arrive on the Australian market with a price tag of AU $899.95.
