We have heard from an industry insider a rumoured launch date for the Samsung Galaxy S5. They said that we could see Samsung announce the Samsung Galaxy S5 this March and the handset may be out weeks later in May. At the same time the insider said that the Samsung Galaxy S5 won’t appear at the MWC and the device with the name of the Galaxy F is just an internal name.
Rumours have been going around about the Samsung Galaxy S5 for some weeks now. It was said that the handset will take over from the Samsung Galaxy S4 and that it will showcase several new features.
Among the rumours is the 5.2 inch QHD display that will feature a high resolution along with 520ppi.
DigiTech said that the panel for the display will be made by Sharp. This is thought to be taking over from the AMOLED displays of Samsung. The reason behind the change is said to be issues with the 2K AMOLED displays of Samsung.
Another rumour is that there will be a 16MP camera on the Samsung Galaxy S5 and the design will be aluminium this time around. Some people had suggested that the Samsung Galaxy S5 would make its launch at the Mobile World Congress in February this year. An insider says otherwise.
Eldur Murtazin thinks that the Samsung Galaxy S5 will be announced at some point in March, with the release being in April or May.
The insider has been right in the past and he pointed out that the Samsung Galaxy F brand relates to the metal Samsung Galaxy S5, with the F being related to Fashion and being an internal name.
Rumours have been going around for some time now that the Samsung Galaxy S5 will move away from the plastic design and be designed in metal. It has also been said that there could be two versions, one metal and the other plastic.
If and when Samsung launch the Samsung Galaxy S5 it will take over from the Samsung Galaxy S4 released in 2013. It will also be in competition with handsets such as the Apple iPhone 5S, iPhone 6 and HTC M8.
