Appearance Of The 2017 Audi A4 Goes Back In Time

When it came to Audi redesigning their A4, rather than taking the revolutionary approach, they decided to take the evolutionary one. The appearance of the latest generation may not have you jumping with excitement, however thanks to a few small changes by the engineers, they have succeeded to making the four-door bigger, weighing up to 264 pounds less, and bringing the coefficient down to 0.23.

Audi have built its repuation due to the quality and styling of its interiors and the new A4 is no exception. Big upgrades have been made to in-cabin appointments and tech, such as introducing Audi’s fully digital, Virtual Cockpit, instrument panel.

The latest A4 will be released in the US in 2017 with diesel or gas options. The 2.0-liter TDI is originally a carryover from the Audi lineup, however some big upgrades have been made to the 2.0-liter TFSI, such as offering a new cylinder head. It now offers 252 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque. All A4’s will receive a seven-speed S-tronic dual-clutch gearbox when released here. Also available are Quattro all-wheel drive and front-wheel drive.

Take a look in the above gallery at the crimson A4 Avant taken at the Frankfurt Motor Show. Make sure you look well as this long-roof version won’t be available in the US. Before you ask, it makes us feel sad too. However, the next Allroad will finally be heading our way after that higher-riding wagon makes its debut.
