There has been a lot of buzz on the Honda Accord getting a facelift but that don’t seem like happening at all. Instead, the Japanese carmaker will reintroduce the current Accord but with an additional 2 airbags.
The so-called safer Accord will have a total of 6 airbags and is due to arrive early next year. It will be powered by the same engine choices which include the 2.0 VTi, 2.0VTi-L and a 2.4 VTi-L. The latter is the top of the line motor that comes with Earth Dream Technology. It offers 175hp and 225Nm of torque while also being mated to a 5-speed automatic transmission.
On the downside of things, the additional airbags are not free of charge. The upcoming Accord has a price tag of RM170,057.60 without insurance. This is about RM2,000 more than the existing Accord.
Now is the time for the bigger question? Are the airbags worth it? Share with us your thoughts in the comment section below.
