Mazda might not be the biggest automotive manufacturer in the world but that does not mean their vehicles are never good. The company had just released the CX-5 and it is disappointing that many shrug the SUV off as they look at the ones from other car manufacturers.
Well, it is a mistake to stay ignorant to the CX-5 as the SUV is truly a masterpiece. The vehicle has the SkyActiv engine system, which tremendously improves handling and fuel efficiency. True enough, the CX-5 speeds on the corners like a sports car, even when it is an SUV.
Under the hood, the CX-5 comes with multiple engine option to choose from. There is the 2L petrol mill that produces 148hp and a 2.2L diesel mill that has 163hp to offer. Of course, the latter is the obvious choice as it is more efficient and powerful.
In detail, the diesel engine has a compression ratio of 14:1. This is a pretty bizarre arrangement but Mazda’s Hideaki Tanaka revealed that the high compression means more torque and better combustion efficiency; in the diesel, lowering the ratio helps cleaner combustion, reduces mechanical loads and the weight of the engine.
Surprisingly, the diesel engine runs smoothly and quietly at all times. In fact, it is quieter than the poorly insulated petrol engine.
There are two CX-5s to choose from and it is the SE-L and the Sport. Regardless of the choice, the SUV comes equipped with reversing camera, xenon lights, electric leather heated seats, keyless system and 19inch alloy.
