We have all heard the rumours on the next Honda Accord to come with a facelift in 2015. Well, the rumours are apparently wrong as the next Accord is going to be near-identical to the current model, while also being more expensive.
The upcoming model will also be offered with the same powertrains as the current Accord. There is the option of a 2.0 VTi, 2.0VTi-L and a 2.4 VTi-L. The latter comes with an additional Earth Dreams Technology that produces 175hp with 225Nm of torque. All three engines are mated to a 5-speed automatic transmission.
Now for the big mystery. Why is the Accord more expensive if there is nothing new to it? After some intense researched, we discovered that the Accord will get 2 additional air bags that will take the total up to 6. In short, the next Accord is nothing more than a safer variant than the existing model.
The upcoming Honda Accord will be selling from RM170,057.60 without insurance. The 2 new airbags actually spiked the price up by an additional RM2000. Consider it as RM1K per air bag. Is it worth it?
