It was an exciting day for truck fans when Chevrolet first took the over off the Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 concept. While Chevrolet did not confirm that the concept was going to become a production model, it was assumed that it would be but that was a few years ago and we are still waiting for the Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 to arrive.
The Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 concept came in with a 2.8 liter Duramax turbo diesel four-cylinder engine that will be pushing out about 181hp and 169lb ft of torque. The engine at that time was mated to a six-speed transmission unit but the consumers are hoping that we would see an eight-speed auto transmission when the production model arrives.
The Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 will be coming in to compete with some of the larger trucks in the market. There is no word on when the truck will be arriving or if Chevrolet will give it the greenlight or not but sure hope it does.
