Development of the next-gen Focus RS is already in its final stages and soon, the vehicle is going to make its debut on a global scale. Ford has already confirmed that the Focus RS will also be coming to the US and it will be the first ever model to step on American soil.
Even so, the US won’t be getting the next-gen Focus RS too soon. This is because the car is going to get distributed in Europe first before it can make its way to other parts of the world. In other words, the Focus RS will only be ready to make its debut in the US at the end of this year.
Also, the Focus RS won’t be engineered in the US. Despite Ford being an American carmaker, the sports hatch is being developed in Germany. Hence, it will be coming with all the safety features from Europe.
When the Focus RS arrives, it will be driven on the AWD system. The car is powered by a 2.3L EcoBoost engine that is sourced from the Mustang and this is paired to a standard 6-speed manual transmission.
