This means that the jailbreak should run on the 4th gen iPod along with the 1st gen iPad as they share the same processor. The iPhone 5, 5S and 5C work on a different processor and this comes with more security, which is harder to jailbreak.
At the moment there isn’t a jailbreak for the iPhone 5S and 5C, but if anyone can deliver one it would be the Evad3rs. They were behind the jailbreak for iOS 7 for the iPhone 5S and 5C.
However they have kept things very quiet and seem to have left it down to Winocm.
Now word has gone around that the Evad3rs could be working on the jailbreak in secret, however some people disagree and believe that the team is waiting for the arrival of iOS 8.
With Cydia the iPhone running iOS 7 can behave just like the one running iOS 7.1. However people still want the jailbreak for iOS 7.1.
When iOS 7.1 came out it did fix loopholes which the Evad3rs had worked on as it brought with it additional security. This is something that the hackers have not been able to beat. This could be why they have chosen to hang on and see what Apple offer with iOS 8.
For the time being if you want to jailbreak your handset you may not want to go ahead and update to iOS 7.1.
While Winocm showed off iOS 7.1 on the iPhone 4, jailbroken, he left it to iH8sn0w to work on the jailbreak for the iPhone 4S.
The good news is that at least some progress has been made and we could yet see someone release the jailbreak for iOS 7.1. perhaps we will also see the term “jailbreaking” added into the dictionary, if Twerking can, then why not jailbreaking?
