It is proven yet again that the PS4 is the better buy compared to the Xbox One from Microsoft. The next-gen console from Sony is technically more advanced than its rival. The latest evidence can be seen with the brand new Playstation-exclusive title, inFamous Second Son.
During the Game Developers Conference, Lead Engine Programmer Adrian Bentley revealed multiple screenshots of inFamous Second Son tow the world with a comparison of it with and without the advanced lighting and reflection effect.
Just the very first image showcased tells a lot about this powerful technology. Right by the Market building in the game, there is an alley. In that direction is where the sun is. Without the advanced effects, the graphics became dark and unrealistic. With the advanced effects, there is certainly a gradient of light base on the direction of the sun. Then there is the reflected light which creates a glow on the shadows.
This is certainly a next-gen material. Fortunately, inFamous Second Son is a Playstation exclusive. If not, then the Xbox One will be in turmoil for getting a poor quality game. Then again, it is not with the game but it is with the console.
