Sony Pictures are going ahead with Ghostbusters 3 and some people think that this is the worst news ever. But the news is even worse as the director of the original Ghostbusters film has said that he isn’t working on the movie.
Deadline said that Sony is starting production of Ghostbusters 3 in 2015. It has been in the making since 1989 when Ghostbusters 2 came out. However it has come across numerous obstacles and one of the biggest happened to be when Bill Muray said that he wasn’t doing the film.
The movie ran into problems when Harold Ramis died, he starred in the movie, along with writing it; he was also behind Ground Hog Day, which also starred Bill Murray. It has been said that Ramis was close to Ivan Reitman and when he died it had an impact on him. It was down to this along with the fact that Murray isn’t going to do the movie that he pulled out.
He did say that he would back the project and has volunteered to help find a new director. The script will be in keeping with that of the original in a minimal way, of course you have to take into account that one of the team did pass away.
At the moment we don’t have any idea when Ghostbusters 3 might make its way out as filming isn’t going to begin until late 2014 or early 2015. It could make its way out and be in cinemas by 2016. It is going to have to offer something exceptional if it isn’t going to suck. It will also be interesting to see if the movie will be successful without Bill Murray, Harold Ramis and Ivan Reitman.
