Here in the US, many are worried that Ford won’t be launching the next-gen Focus RS locally due to the availability of the EcoBoost-powered Lincoln MKC and the Mustang which gives poor prospects for the sports hatch.
Now, fans of the Focus badge can put their worries to rest as Ford has already confirmed that the Focus RS US release is inevitable. This is partly because of the popularity of the Focus in the US which sees the need of an RS model to get slotted above the ST.
Furthermore, not launching the Focus RS here in the US will only give away the perception that Ford is a profit-driven automotive firm instead of a passionate one. Obviously, this is something Ford will want to avoid and hence led them to confirm the Focus RS home debut later this year.
