Windows Kicked Out By WhatsApp, Not Alone

WhatsApp is looking to further expand their popular app and that means adding in a few new features and capability but that is not the only major changes they will be making as they announce that the app will no longer support some of the platforms in the market. Windows and Blackberry were in the list of platforms that WhatsApp will stop supporting.

According to WhatsApp, platforms like Blackberry OS and Blackberry 10 will be kicked out and so will the Windows Phone 7.1 as well as some of the older Android version, Android 2.1 and Android 2.2. Other platforms that they will no longer be supporting includes the Symbian S60 and Nakia S40.

While most of the other platform they listed were already pretty old so it probably won’t affect the consumers much, we were surprised to see a new platform like the Blackberry 10 in the list as well.

The update will only happen at the end of the year.
