Tesla Model X: Watch Your Finger Yourself, Tesla Won’t Do It For You Anymore

The impressive Falcon Wing doors on the Tesla Model X is not a huge problem for their users as the buggy sensor is preventing them from actually closer the door.

The doors come with a sensor that will detect if there is anything in the way. The sensor was added so that it will not crush any fingers that might be in the way but owners have reported that the sensor would detect and object even when there is nothing there and would refuse to shut the door.

The new firmware update by Tesla was supposed to fix that but according to METv, they might have just deactivated that sensor. They made a demo video showing the doors in action after the update and the door closed even when there was a cucumber in its path. That could have been a finger.

This could be a new bug or maybe Tesla just decided to switch the sensor off. Until we get an answer, you might want to pay more attention to where your fingers are before closing the door.
