Toyota C-HR Groomed In Diamonds To Challenge Nissan Qahsqai!

If you think that the Range Rover Evoque is badass, wait till you see what Toyota is about to produce. The Japanese carmaker is aiming to create a large SUV that sports a diamond-styled design, much like the Evoque.

While no names were confirmed, Toyota revealed that the concept is called the C-HR. When Toyota pulled the curtains on the SUV at the recent Paris Motor Show, we noticed that the styling is nothing like those on previous Toyota vehicles.

Over at the front section, Toyota equipped the C-HR with narrow LED headlights that merges with the grille. Also, the SUV has a wider frame for better proportion. Other features at the front include a raised ground clearance and LED daytime running lights.

On another note, the C-HR looks a lot like the Toyota Auris that was recently spotted running some test. Perhaps, the concept is built for the Auris line of vehicles and it will be one level below the Toyota RAV4.

Under the hood, the C-HR will be adopting a petrol-electric hybrid powertrain. Toyota has one of the best hybrid systems in the world and they could just implement their technology from the Prius into the C-HR.

The latter is revealed to be coming in 2017 and it will be competing with the likes of Nissan Qashqai. For years, the Qashqai has dominated the segment and Toyota wishes to challenge that with the C-HR.
