Renault Alaskan: Almost Had Us

We already knew that Renault was working on a new pickup truck when they showed off the Alaskan Concept last year. At that time, it did feel like Renault was going to come out with an impressive truck to compete with the other but now that we have seen what Renault will be offering, we have to say that we are a little disappointed.

Renault showed off the new Renault Alaskan this week. The pickup truck comes with a huge grille in the front flanked by a C-SHaped LED daytime running right and does give the truck a very fierce face but not really what we would call attractive.

The Renault Alasken will be riding on the Nissan Navara NP300 underpinning. Under the hood is a 2.3-liter twin turbo diesel dCi engine that will come with two output option, 160hp and 190hp. Some markets might also get a 2.5-liter petrol and diesel option.

Renault will be releasing the new pickup in South America first later this year.
