PS4 1.7 Firmware Update Release Date Set For Next Week Apparently

The PS4 is never short of awesome. With all the latest technologies being fitted into the console, there is no escaping the fact that the Sony PS4 is the most powerful gaming machine to date.

Hardwares aside, Sony’s next move will be looking to roll out the 1.7 firmware update next week. The buzz on this started after PlayStation community manager, Chris Owen, teased that many good announcements are coming next week.

The lad added that some of the news will be about the 1.7 patch update.

Not long later, a moderation specialist from SCEE tweeted that next week is dubbed to be the ‘something for everyone’ week’.

This upcoming 1.7 firmware will bring with it tons of new features and among them are the video editor, ability to save videos and screenshots to a USB drive and the switching off of HDCP so that videos can be captured via HDMI.

Of course, the 1.7 update will be the first of many. Sony made it clear that it won’t restrict the growth of the PS4. Future additions are rumoured to be linkups with Twitch and Ustream.
