About 16 months ago, Nissan started producing the latest Sentra at their new facility in Mexico and earlier today, the Japanese carmaker welcomed the 200,000th unit produced at the centre.
The Sentra which marked this accomplishment is powered by a 1.8L engine that is paired to the Xtronic transmission. It generates 130hp and 128ft-lbs of torque which makes the vehicle a geat fuel saver.
To add to that, the arrival of the 200,000th Sentra also confirmed that it takes about 55 seconds on average for the facility to produce a Sentra. This clearly shows that the sedan has been selling well in the North American region.
The Nissan Sentra has long served the masses as a no-nonsense compact city car that is cheap to own and also cheap to run. Many felt that the Nissan Sentra has fallen behind due to the more appealing Honda City and Mazda3 but the figures above suggest otherwise.
