BMW X3 Bulking Up With The Weight Issue

The BMW X3 has spotted once more. The test mule was spotted in Sweden this time and like the last few spies shots, it really does look like the BMW X3 will be coming in with a bigger body this time.

While it might look bigger, it was also reported that the BMW X3 will be riding on the CLAR scalable architecture which is lighter than the previous architecture. That will help ensure that the BMW X3 will stay light despite its growing body.

It is believed that the BMW X3 will be running on a 2.0 liter four cylinder engine that will be mated to either a six speed manual or an eight-speed auto transmission. There is also the 3.0 liters straight six diesel and gasoline engine option which will be mated to an auto transmission.

BMW will also be adding in two new models, the BMW X3 M40i xDrive model as well as Plug-in Hybrid version which will be powered by a 240hp hybrid engine. The BMW X3 should be arriving in 2017 as a 2018 model.
