Sony Xperia Phones May Get Own Aresneal Of Exclusive KitKat Features

Sony has been dropping out hints about what owners of the Sony Xperia handset can expect with the KitKat 4.4 update and Android 4.4.2 update when it arrives for the Xperia Z. Some of their older handsets will also get updates and this includes the SP, T, TX and the V. it has been said that people could see some features that have been based on Sony Xperia Sirius and Z1. We heard that there could be battery managers, camera modes and two new user interfaces.

The interface for the Sony Sirius was leaked and it showed two different versions. People are able to choose from the Xperia and the Simple home screen. We also saw new icons along with status bar icons and a brand new battery icon.

When Sony rolled out the Jelly Bean 4.3 update it brought Smart Social apps with it along with new camera modes and a new UI. The Sony Xperia, the Ultra X and Z series handsets could get some camera features that are exclusive and which have made their way from Sirius. These include TimeShift Video along with Background Shift.

The Smart App has seen an update and now it offers users a new look along with the Close All button, which is one part of Recent Apps. There is also Smart Backlight, this works similar to the Galaxy handsets. KitKat 4.4 is also said to bring with it support for white balance, smart call handling and a double tap to wake feature.

The Xperia Sirius has new sound options, high resolution audio with USB along with S Force audio, clear Audio and xLoud engine.

There will be more customisation choices for the notification bar along with the status bar and My Xperia themes. At the moment those with the device on Jelly Bean 4.3 cannot apply any customisation with My Xperia Themes.

KitKat will bring with it better power management, low battery and stamina mode which has been based on Wi-Fi. Along with this the data can be sent to a queue which is said to save battery life.

The Sony Xperia Z is going to get KitKat at some time during this year, Android 4.3 will be heading to the Xperia SP, T, TX and the V at some point but we don’t know when.
