Resident Evil 7 Won’t Be Aimed Ad Original Fanbase As Much As Thought

Resident Evil 6 might look like a major success in the eyes of Capcom. However, little did the game developer know that the fans of this highly popular gaming franchise are fuelled with anger after trying out the game.

Things grew worse when Capcom teases the fans on Resident Evil 7. This next sequel has already commenced development even before Resident Evil 6 gets to mature.

There is no denying that Resident Evil is one of the longest running gaming series. It first debut in 1996 and back then, Resident Evil was superb. Ever since the fourth sequel got released, things have taken a new direction with the key elements in the game got taken away and replaced with something more ‘hip and cool’.

Even Resident Evil 6 looked like a B grade Call of Duty game and fans are demanding Capcom to restore the game back to its horror state come Resident Evil 7.

There appears to be a reason behind this genre shift. Currently, majority of the fans are aged 20-40. This means that they’ve started playing Resident Evil since it first started. It is unsure if Capcom has a certain dislike for the current crop of fans but the game developer admitted that it wish to seal the new generations of gamers.

Even fashion brands are collaborating with Capcom to give the protagonist a hotter look in a bid to impress new gamers. It didn’t end there. The game developer even opened a Resident Evil café in Shibuya, Tokyo.

The older fans are certainly disappointed by this and are truly hoping for Resident Evil 7 to offer them a wholesome thrilling experience. After all, it is the adults that have the purchasing power and not kids.
