Redesigned 2015 Nissan Maxima Toned Down From SSC But Still Better Than Porsche Panamera!

Nissan has confirmed that they are producing the next-generation Maxima based on the Sports Sedan Concept (SSC) that was unveiled back at the last Detroit Auto Show. The SSC captured the hearts of the masses as it boasts a beautiful design language.

While the same is expected for the upcoming Maxima, spy shots of the vehicle running some test tell a different story. Apparently, the Maxima is severely toned down form the SSC. Even with the thick camouflage, we are able to confirm that the grill on the test mule is smaller and not as striking like the SSC.

On the other hand, the spy shots confirm that the Maxima is going to be slightly smaller than the Altima in terms of size. Nissan has yet to reveal on the engine that will be towing the car but we can expect it to be a 3.5L V6 engine mated to a CVT transmission. There is also the possibility of the Maxima being powered by a hybrid mill that includes a 2.5L 4-cylinder engine.

Even when coming with a toned down design, the Maxima still looks great overall. Heck, it is so much better than what is offered with the Porsche Panamera. With the right choices of engines, the Maxima can be much better than the luxury vehicle from Porsche.
