At this point in time, Rockstar might as well just shout it from the rooftop. After all the leaks, we are all convinced that the Red Dead Redemption 2 is being developed right now and that we might be seeing it this year.
We know that Rockstar plans to develop the game but they never did announce when they will be developing it or when they planned to release the game. Not too long ago, Flaghero reported that the new Red Dead Redemption 2 game is already being worked on and that the new installment will be called the Red Dead Redemption 2: Legend of the West.
Soon after that, a map appeared online. It was later confirmed that the map we all saw was the new map for Red Dead Redemption 2.
Rockstar has not made any announcement yet and chances are we are only going to hear about it at E3 this year.
