With the iPad 3 release now appearing almost imminent, it comes as no surprise that more purported components of the next-generation Apple tablet begin to surface.
More purported iPad 3 parts leaked (pictures)
The latest comes way of Japanese site iLab.cc which has published a bunch of pictures that are reportedly of the iPad 2 and iPad 3 rear shell side by side. At first glance they appear almost identical, suggesting that Apple may not be redesigning the form factor this year after all. However on closer inspection, it is obvious that the mounting holes are in different positions.
This has led many to believe that the reconfigured mounting points is to accommodate for a Retina Display, such as the high-resolution Sharp LCD panel which was tested with the iPad 3 shell and fits like a glove (mounting points and all).
If rumors serve true then we may see the iPad 3 announced on March 3rd, and hit stores approximately one week after. We'll keep you posted as more develops.
