LG G Flex 3: Where Did It Go?

By  |

It was initially speculated that LG will be announcing the LG G Flex 3 at IFA 2016 but that did not happen. So what is the deal now? Is LG going to release an LG G Flex 3 or are they going to be satisfied with the LG G5 and the LG V20?

It seems like all the attention now is on the new LG V20 and nobody seems to really be interested in the LG G Flex 2 successor. In fact, there is not a whole lot of details and leaks about the LG G Flex 3 right now.

LG made a huge mistake when they decided to reduce the display screen size of the LG G Flex 2 last year. A lot of fans were not too happy about the changes they made and they are hoping that they would get it right this time if they do release the curved screen device.

There were rumors about the device coming in with a 5.5inch curved display screen with a self-healing back. The device would most probably be running on the Snapdragon 820 CPU with 4GB RAM and 32GB/64GB of internal storage.

As for whether it will be coming with a modular design or not, it might not although we will still see more of the modular design has LG reveal that they plan to continue working on the modular design.

I am extremely disappointed with LG right now. So much so that I have sold my G4 for an HTC 10. Not too crazy over the size of the HTC 10 screen size but It is not an LG. I am a fan of the original flex. The innovative thought put behind that was was awesome. When the flex 2 was released last year I was not too happy about the 5.5 inch display. I did give Flex 2 a chance. The short time I had the phone, I found that it ran really hot most of the time. While surfing the net I had periods of the web page freezing which causing me to do a hard reboot. Or the phone rebooting on its own. Finally I had enough and went back to original Flex. I sure hope that LG has an ulterior motive behind not releasing the Flex 3. I will wait to see if LG announces the Flex 3 at CES 2017. I sure hope so.

I fully agree with this article. I used to own the original G-Flex. It was a great concept but the screen was grainy and the colors weren’t anywhere as close as bright as Samsung’s displays. The camera also wasn’t good enough.. The original g-flex with a 6+ inch vivid quad HD display, a 4000+ mAh battery and improved camera would be something that I would buy in a heartbeat, even at a high cost. 5.5 inches is too small.

As you can figure out. LG is not going to release the LG flex 3 this year. I doubt if the Flex line will continue. I am sad to say that the flex line is dead.
