Lexus Serious With Its Next SUV

This year played host to many major motoring exhibitions and two of them became the stage for the Lexus SUV concept. It is rare for a concept to feature twice across different motor shows simply imply that Lexus is serious about producing the SUV.

The concept vehicle was first spotted in Frankfurt before taking the stage at Toyko. On the former, Lexus promoted it as a hybrid powertrain vehicle. In Tokyo however, the concept features a 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine.

Also, Lexus confirms that the SUV will be called the LF-NX and production is already in motion for the vehicle. The LF-NX will be making its debut during the Geneva Motor Show in spring this year before being available to the public worldwide.

Lexus’ European director, Paul Van der Burgh, revealed that there is a trend among consumers that are hoping for concept designs to come to life. The lad further explained that the mean-looking design will be retained in the final production. After all, Lexus desires to have vehicles that stand out from the common designs.

When the LF-NX arrives, it will come with the 220hp hybrid powertrain sourced from the IS 300h and GS 300h models, as well as the all-new 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine. The LF-NX will also look to challenge the Range Rover Evoque in the premium SUV segment.
