Kia Sorento: Mass Recall Made After Growing Complains On Poor Accelerator

The Sorento has long served Kia as one their bestselling vehicles ever. Unfortunately, the hot streak soon slowed down after Kia announced on a recall of the Sorento due to a suspect faulty gas pedal.

In detail, a total of 12,361 cars were called back and they are all manufactured between 27 October 2014 and January 29, 2015. As for the issue, it is understood that a capacitor on the circuit board for the accelerator assembly may be improperly soldered.

This is really dangerous to other road users as there is a chance for the Sorento to only drive at idling speed. Furthermore, the lack of acceleration can also put the driver’s life at risk when attepting to overtake at high speed.

Of course, owners of the Sorento won’t get charged for the parts replacement. The mechanic at Kia service centres will simply run a quick check on the Sorento and if the gas pedal is truly faulty, then they will repair it free.
