Jeep Wrangler To Come In Like A Storm

Or at least it might be powered by one. We know that FCA has been working on a new turbocharged four-cylinder engine called the Hurricane and new reports are now suggesting that the engine might be fitted under the hood of the upcoming Jeep Wrangler.

It is believed that the turbocharged four-cylinder engine will be able to deliver about 300hp when it is ready. With that much ponies, the new Hurricane engine will be delivering way more than the 2.0 liter EcoBoost that Ford is offering.

The upcoming Jeep Wrangler will actually benefit from the smaller engine as it will further help improve the fuel economy of the Jeep Wrangler. We know thatJeep Wrangler has already decided to use aluminium to reduce the weight of the upcoming Jeep Wrangler and this will only help Jeep further reduce the weight.

The new engine will most likely be mated to an eight-speed transmission.
