Google Nexus 8 To Release In Time For Christmas 2014 (Report)

This mid-sized tablet will be Google’s final fight against its Apple counterparts. Both the iPad Air and iPad Mini has been doing well and there isn’t a better way to end the Nexus era than giving it a final victory against its fiercest rivals.

The Nexus 8 will be developed by Taiwanese manufacturer, HTC. The company has a poor record in the tablet market. Despite that fact, Google has decided to give HTC that much needed chance at redemption.

Under the hood, rumours have been hinting that the Nexus 8 won’t be getting involved with Qualcomm. Instead, Intel is in contention as the company wishes to demonstrate the power of its new Atom-based Moorefield chipset.

Unlike all the other Nexus tablets, the 8.9 inch slate is expected to be the most expensive of them all. This is due to the high-end specs coming to the device. On the other hand, it won’t be a major jump from the average pricing of its siblings.

All in all, this is one great device to look out for and possibly the last Nexus to hit the market. Production is expected to commence in August 2014 with the release being in Q4. We do hope to get more information on the matter come Google I/O Conference next month.
