Chrysler Humvee Revived! [PICS]

Hummer might be a well-known luxury 4×4 manufacturer from the US but things have not been so well for the company. In fact, Hummer has gone bankrupt which leaves us wondering on which carmaker can provide for the US army.

For decades now, the US army has been relying on Hummer vehicles for their conquest. However, when talking a walk down memory lane, there is another name that was runner-up in creating vehicles for the military. It is Chrysler.

Apparently, the latter once developed the High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle, or better known as the Humvee. In fact, Chrylser managed to create something Hummer has failed to do and that is producing a sturdy vehicle that is inexpensive yet dependable. Chrysler actually used of the shelf parts to create the Humvee.

The Humvee might be developed in 1981 but its design says that the vehicle is built today. It sports an angular body shape which gives it that modern, stealthy look. However, this is something unplanned as Chrysler simply wishes to keep the price cheap.

With Hummer already out of the way, we could see Chrysler tapping on their old design and give it a more futuristic, digitalized touch-up. Furthermore, the carmaker might also create something near-similar for the consumers. While that remains to be in question, consumers can check out the short historical video of the Humvee above.
