Apple iPhone 7: Standard 3.5mm Headphone Port Dropped To Save Space?

It looks like going big alone is not going to be enough for the Apple as they seem to be working to reduce the size of their next Apple iPhone as well.

It was speculated that Apple might actually consider dropping the 3.5mm headphone port for the next Apple iPhone 7. With the large port now out of the way, Apple will be able to reduce the thickness of the Apple iPhone 7.

It is said and in the place of the headphone port will be the Lightning port. While having a thinner smartphone seems to be a good thing, some users were not too happy about the new since a thinner device means no battery upgrades. Battery lifespan has always been one of the biggest issues for smartphones nowadays.

Others commented that this will be another way for Apple to start selling more accessories like an adapter for the new ports and new headphones. Of course, this is just a speculation right now so take it with a pinch of salt.
