It looks like things were going to get harder for the Chevrolet Corvette when Ford announce that they were going to release a new Ford Mustang GT500 but Chevrolet had a few more tricks up their sleeve.
Chevrolet also reveals that they will be working on a new Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 model which will be coming in with an upgraded engine. The current model delivers about 650hp and it is believed that the new model will be delivering about 700hp to 750hp when it arrives.
Although that is still lower than the 800hp that the Ford Mustang GT500 is expected to deliver when it arrive, we also need to remember that the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 is a lot lighter than the Ford Mustang which means the 700hp might be more than enough for it to take on the new Mustang GT500.
It will be interesting to see which of these two models ends up being the winner at the end of the day.
