2018 Dodge Challenger GT AWD: Don’t Mind Its Weight

Talks about Dodge working on a new Dodge Challenger GT with an AWD system have been going on for some time now it never confirmed until now. Thanks to EPA, we now know that there is going to be a Challenger GT AWD along with its fuel economy numbers and powertrain.

The biggest question now is whether or not Dodge will be doing something about the weight of the car. With Dodge deciding to give it an all-wheel drive system, we can certainly expect the vehicle to gain some weight since it will need to be fitted with extra tech to power up all four wheels. The lighter platform will only be arriving in 2019 which means it could be using the same platform.

According to EPA, the 2017 Dodge Challenger GT AWD will be powered by a 3.6 liter V6 engine that will be mated to an eight-speed auto transmission. The AWD model should be returning about 18mpg in the city and 27mpg on the highway.
