2017 Volkswagen Golf R Ignored By Focus RS

By  |

The Volkswagen Golf R will be coming in to compete with the Ford Focus RS but the Focus RS does not seem to be threatened at all.

The 2017 Volkswagen Golf R will not be getting any major upgrades this year. That means it will still be fitted with the same 2.0 liter inline 4 engine. The engine will be offering about 292hp and 280lb ft of torque and will be paired with a six-speed manual transmission. The Volkswagen Golf R EPA rating is rated at 22mpg in the city and 31mpg on the highway.

Features like the dusk sensing headlights, traction control, and stability control will all come as standard features on the Golf R.

The Ford Focus RS, on the other hand, will come with a 350hp 2.3 liter inline 4 engine that will be offering about 350lb ft of torque. The engine will also be mated to a six-speed manual transmission. The Focus RS will be fitted with features like DRL, fog lights, and cornering lights.

So which model will you pick?

The R is a much more refined car than the RS. The RS looks really chea inside. Well….it’s a Ford after all so what one can expect
