2017 Saab 9-3 EV: 0-60MPH Aimed At Under 5 Seconds?

Ever since NEVS bought over Saab, the Swedish carmaker has been busy developing new cars in the EV direction. Their first production car since revival will be the all-new 9-3 and it is tipped to make its debut late in 2016.

The 9-3 EV will run on an electric powertrain and it is aimed at rivalling the Tesla Model S. Saab is also well known with their innovative product design so we could see a very unique 9-3 when released.

However, when it comes to performance, the next 9-3 is aiming to be better than the competition. This might sound a little too ambitious for Saab but it is an exciting target for the consumers to keep an eye on.

The word from Sweden is that the Saab 9-3 is going to be a fast accelerator and it will be beating the old V8-powered 9-7’s 0-60mph timing of 7.6 seconds. Since the 9-3 is going to challenge the Model S, we are expecting its 0-60 figures to be around the 5 second mark.

Of course, the above is still based on rumours and it is best to take it with a grain of salt. Saab is still pending to unveil the next 9-3 but we can expect to learn more about the vehicle next year.
