2017 Mazda CX-5: Not Getting Closer To Volvo XC60

When rumors started surfacing about the 2017 Mazda CX-5, there were talks about the 2017 Mazda CX-5 could actually come in as a premium model. It was initially predicted that the Mazda CX-5 was going to come in to compete with the Volvo XC60 but now that we have seen what Mazda is going to offer, we know that it won’t be getting closer to the Volvo XC60 this time.

As nice as it is to have a Volvo XC60 rival from Mazda CX-5, we are not mad at the Mazda CX-5 either. The 2017 model will not only be coming in with an upgraded design but it will also come running on a new diesel engine option.

While most automakers are trying their best to avoid offering their diesel model here in the US, Mazda decided to start offering their first diesel powered Mazda CX-5 here in the US. Some fans were hoping that the new CX-9 engine would be offered as well but it looks like it won’t be happening this time around.
