2017 Honda CR-V vs Toyota RAV4: Honda Holding It Back

Despite its boring exterior design, the Honda CR-V still manage to beat the Toyota RAV4 in terms of sales but not by a huge margin. The Honda CR-V definitely could have performed better if Honda did not hold it back.

Most automakers including Toyota are all busy trying to offer their customers a hybrid powertrain option, Honda, on the other hand, does not seem to be in any rush to get their hybrid models out there.

The release of the Toyota RAV4 hybrid model has helped increase the RAV4 sales by 10% which means people are actually looking for a hybrid model. While it does not look like Honda is going to offer any 2017 Honda CR-V hybrid model this year, it is said that a hybrid option will be available when Honda release the 2018 model.

With the hybrid engine, the CR-V should be able to secure the top spot once more next year.
