Honda CR-V’s biggest rival right now would probably be the Toyota RAV4. Although they did manage to overtake the Toyota RAV4, the gap is not really big enough that the Honda CR-V can actually relax and if they continue holding the CR-V back, the RAV4 might come in and claim the top spot once more.
Things got a lot better for the Toyota RAV4 after they release the hybrid version. It has been reported that the Toyota RAV4 hybrid helped increase the Toyota RAV4 sales by 10%. You think that those numbers would convince Honda to push out their own Hybrid powered CR-V but it looks like that is not going to happen for the 2017 model.
However, there are already talks about the 2018 Honda CR-V possibly coming in with a new hybrid engine. The vehicle will also be coming in with a brand new design as well.
