2017 Ford F-150 Raptor: Makes Up For Losing Its Voice

By  |

The fans were not too happy when Ford announce that the Raptor will be getting a turbo engine. Their biggest concern at that time was that the turbo engine will take away what they think is the essence of the Ford F-150 Raptor and that is its engine sound.

While it is true that the Ford F-150 Raptor will no longer sound the same now with the new turbo engine, we think Ford made the right decision with the upgrade. It might not sound as sweet now but the Ford F-150 Raptor is able to offer about 450hp and 510lb ft of torque now and returns about 15mpg in the city and 18mpg on the highway.

The previous model offered about 411hp and 434lb ft of torque. The engine only returns about 11mpg in the city and 16npg on the highway.

The Raptor might not sound like a Raptor anymore but we would take the muted and more powerful model over the older model for sure.
